Who we are

Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) strengthens democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy. Since 1983, CIPE has worked with business leaders, policymakers, and journalists to build the civic institutions vital to a democratic society. CIPE’s key program areas include anti-corruption, advocacy, business associations, corporate governance, democratic governance, access to information, the informal sector and property rights, and women and youth. CIPE programs are supported by the National Endowment for Democracy, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Middle East Partnership Initiative, and the U.S. Embassy in Iraq Office for Private Sector Development.

Center for International Private Enterprise Regional Office is the representative office of a non-profit, non-governmental American organization - CIPE. Its mission is to strengthen democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. Over the last 20 years, CIPE has supported more than 800 local initiatives in more than 95 developing countries to organize business associations and involve businesspeople in policy advocacy, institutional reform, and responsible governance.

CIPE Regional Office promotes democratic values and economic growth by providing support to business associations, employers' associations, chambers of commerce and other membership-based organizations.

The Regional Center for Organization Management (RCOM) is a Romanian foundation established in 2007 by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) as a means to continue its support programs for the development of membership-based organizations in the Balkan region and Eastern Europe. RCOM is a consulting and education center that offers training, technical assistance and information to non-profit organizations in transition economies.

RCOM's mission is to offer information, training and consulting services that will enable these entities to effectively accomplish their mission.

Established under the guidance of the Center for Private Enterprise- Regional Office, the Regional Institute for Organization Management (RIOM) is a program which provides practical training and expertise to executives and volunteers of business associations, chambers of commerce, employers' associations and other types of membership-based organizations from Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

RIOM's mission is to equip association leaders with the necessary knowledge and tools to help them advance the interests of their members.
