Armenia - March 26-28, 2009
In March 2009, CIPE Regional Office held a 3-day "Membership and Public Policy Advocacy for Effective Business Associations Workshop" in Yerevan, Armenia.
During the workshop, the participants were introduced to topics such as:
- Analyzing Members’ Needs & Expectations
- Programs & Services Analysis
- Membership Recruitment and Retention
- Public Policy Development – Regional Experiences
- Advocacy Campaigns
- Association Stakeholder Analysis
- Communication in Advocacy
In addition, the participants had the opportunity to put their newly-acquired knowledge into practice by completing group exercises. They were also able to share their experience with the facilitators, as well as their peers, during the discussions sessions.
The participants attended a four-day training in Baku, on topics such as:
- Market Approach
- Analyzing and Meeting Members' Needs
- Designing Relevant Programs and Services
- Building Communication and Advocacy Skills for Effective Business Associations
- Advocacy Campaigns and Public Consultation Procedures
- Communication with the Media in Advocacy Campaigns
The training program was organized in Timisoara (Romania) in order to facilitate the networking between representatives of Serbian business associations and the Romanian ones. The program included courses such as:
- Environment and Markets of Business Associations
- Analyzing Members' Needs, Programs and Services
- Membership Fees and Other Income Sources
- Effective Involvement in Public Policy Advocacy & Communication
The training program took place in Sarajevo, comprising of the following courses:
- Environment and Markets of Business Associations
- Analyzing Members' Needs, Programs and Services
- Strategic planning
- Effective Meetings
- Policy Development
- Communicating Effectively with the Media
