CIPE Holds Roundtable during Global Entrepreneurship Week
As part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2010, CIPE’s Regional
Office in Romania and the Coalition of Women Business Associations
(CAFA) have organized the roundtable “Entrepreneurship in Times of
Crisis: 2009 – 2010” in Ramnicu Valcea, Romania.
The event was attended by about 35 businesswomen (managers and
entrepreneurs) who are affiliated with six CAFA members, and has
received local media coverage.
CIPE Regional Office Program Director Camelia Bulat facilitated the
roundtable and also delivered a presentation (“ SMEs - Obstacles and
Incentives in 2009 – 2010”) based on the participants’ responses to a
short questionnaire, which they had completed prior to the event.
The discussions focused on the evolution of the CAFA members in
2009 – 2010, current economic and fiscal obstacles and incentives for
SME’s, as well as measures necessary in order to allow more women and
young people to start new businesses. Based on these discussions, CAFA
has prepared a list of legislative priorities for 2011, which it will
advocate for in the Parliament and at the Government. Priorities include
specific changes in the Labor Code, and the Fiscal Code. In addition,
CAFA will advocate for the State’s compliance with and observance of the
legislation in place.
