Cornelia Rotaru is the President of the Association for Women Entrepreneurship Development in Romania, member in the Consultative Body of the National Authority for Research and Science, and evaluator for research, innovation and technologic transfer programs. Cornelia Rotaru is also a partner at a management and business consulting firm.
Mrs. Rotaru had an important contribution in setting up the Romanian Trade Registry. Between 1990 and 2000, she was the General Director of the Trade Registry’s National Bureau, as part of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania. She has also been involved in the organization of different services within the Chamber: the Business Information Center, the Euro Info Center, the One Stop Office for the registration and authorization of newly established companies, and the Center for Business Development.
Between 2002 and 2006, she was General Secretary and General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
In addition, Mrs. Rotaru has an extensive expertise in managing and coordinating international projects: sixteen European projects between 1992 and 2007, World Bank projects, PNUD, USAID, UNCTAD projects, as well as UN’s Economic Commission for Europe projects.
Cornelia Rotaru has a PhD in economy from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, and is the author of over one hundred studies and articles regarding the Trade Registry, the intellectual property rights, business information and electronic commerce. She constantly enriches her experience by participating in conferences and seminars, organized in Romania and abroad.
