Gabriela Hagiu


Gabriela Hagiu is the owner of a consulting company, as well as an associate professor at the Bucharest University- the Communication and Public Relations Department. Within the Public Relations Master Program, she has introduced and delivers a series of courses such as “Efficient Practices in Business and Professional Associations’ Management”, “Commercial Practices in Events’ Management and Logistics”, “Advocacy Campaigns as a Public Relations Application”.

Between 2002 and 2004, Gabriela Hagiu was the Executive Director of the Romanian Convention Bureau (the National Association of Professional Conferences and Exhibitions Organizers). Being in charge with the management of the association, she also provided the conceptual, operational and financial coordination of some non-reimbursable funding projects (the Tourism Ministry, USAID/ CIPE). Gabriela Hagiu is the author and the coordinator of the E-ventPro 2003 RCB’s Project, dedicated to promoting events organizers and helping them acquire  professional standards through electronic means, a project funded by USAID/ CIPE as part of the Business Association Development Program. 

Gabriela Hagiu has an extensive expertise as a lecturer and facilitator in various workshops and conferences dedicated to strategic planning in conference management, hotelier franchise, competition analysis, enhancement of the public-private partnership in promoting the events industry as a component of the regional development. She has also been involved in projects regarding the Romanian tourism promotion, projects initiated by the Coalition ‘Tourism for Today and Tomorrow’, supported by USAID/ CIPE Romania.

Gabriela Hagiu has worked for the past 11 years within the events industry, business and motivational tourism, consulting for business associations and promotion of hotelier properties. Her activity includes strategic planning, project management for local and international projects, design and implementation of corporate PR campaigns, media relations and advertising, and teaching at university level.

Gabriela Hagiu has a BA in social communication and public relations from the Bucharest University, as well as a master degree in advertising consulting. She has attended a series of professional trainings in Holland.
