CIPE announces the winners of the 2009 International Youth Competition
CIPE recently announced the winners of the 2009 International Youth
Essay competition. Out of a total of 660 submissions from 106 countries
for the three categories of the competition (Citizenship in a
Democratic Society; Entrepreneurship and Leadership; Educational Reform
and Employment), twelve essays were selected by a panel of judges
comprising CIPE’s partners from think tanks all over the world, as well
as CIPE staff.
Romanian ICT Coalition’ Efforts in Advancing Public Policies Promoted as Best Practices in Eastern Europe; June 12, 2008
Bucharest (Romania); June 10, 2008- The Regional Center for Organization Management, with the support of representative ICT business associations, launches the CD “Public Policies with an Impact on the Romanian ICT Sector”. The CD presents the common efforts of the public and the private sectors in creating and promoting public policies which had a positive influence on the development of the Romanian ICT industry. The representatives of the business community, of the business support organizations, as well as public officials share the stories on some of the initiatives undertaken in the past decade that have strengthen the Romanian ICT sector.
The Regional Institute for Organization Management Starts a New Training Series- April 3, 2008
Bucharest (Romania); April 3, 2008- The Regional Institute for Organization Management (RIOM) training program, based on the model of the US Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management, is dedicated to the professional development of leaders and managers of business associations, chambers of commerce, employers associations, as well as other types of membership-based organizations. RIOM’s training program will carry on between April 8-11 and May 27-30, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bucharest.
Members of the Coalition of Balkan Women Business Associations Meet in Bucharest- March 26, 2007
Bucharest; March 26, 2007 - Eighteen women business associations from
Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia,
Romania, Serbia and Turkey will meet in Bucharest on March 30 and 31
for the second edition of the Conference of Balkan Women Associations,
organized by Center for International Private Enterprise Romania (CIPE
Romania). The purpose of the conference is two-folded: electing a
structure that will ensure the functioning of the Coalition and an
efficient communication among its members, and setting up a medium-term
working plan.

Romanian Employers' Organizations Search for Strategic Solutions; July 11, 2006
Bucharest; July 11, 2006 - In a
time when the legislation on employers' organizations is undergoing
some important changes, issues concerning representation and promoting
members' interests are going under scrutiny. Offering a forum of
discussion for both the employers' organizations and their members,
Center for International Private Enterprise Romania (CIPE Romania)
organized, at the initiative of the Alliance of Romanian Employers'
Confederations, a roundtable entitled "Romanian Employers'
Organizations - Serving Members' Needs". The event took place on July
7th in Bucharest, Romania, and was attended by representatives of 14
employers' organizations, federations and confederations, as well as
members and representatives of the business community. The guest
speaker was Mr. Antonio Penalosa, Secretary General of the
International Organization of Employers.

aspects of a future cooperation in the region within the Conference of

The CIPE Development Institute is a joint effort with CIPE partners and distinguished global scholars.
