Razi Nurullayev

Razi Nurullayev is co-Chairman of the Society of Democratic Reforms, an organization that he has co-founded and whose aim is to promote democracy and the development of the Azeri civil society.
Under his leadership, the Society of Democratic Reforms has had numerous achievements: hundreds of projects on human rights have been implemented; various books, brochures, bulletins have been published; hundreds of trainings, seminars and round tables on social political and economic issues have been organized. Additionally, the organization has held numerous international conferences both in and outside the country, and has translated and published tens of books on social and local development.
Mr. Nurullayev is also coordinator of the Civil Society Coalition of Azeri NGOs, which deals with social entrepreneurship, civil society development and partnerships with the private sector. The Coalition currently counts over twenty members.
Mr. Nurullayev holds an MR in Humanities from the Azerbaijan University of Languages and a law degree from the Southern Russian Humanitarian Institute. Additionally, he has received scholarships and fellowships from prestigious institutions, such as the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (New York) and John Abbott College (Montreal, Canada). In 2005, Mr. Nurullayev ran for the Parliament of Azerbaijan and is now running in the municipal elections in Azerbaijan.
