The purpose of this project is to identify and address the specific training needs of Albanian business support organizations.
As part of this new project targeting Albania, Carmen Stanila, CIPE Regional Office in Romania Deputy Director met with representatives of thirteen business support organizations in Tirana and Korce on September 6-11.
The purpose of the meetings was to conduct a diagnostic assessment and determine the Albanian organizations’ strengths and weaknesses in areas like membership, governance, communication and advocacy. The findings of this assessment will be summarized in a report. In addition, Carmen Stanila administered a needs assessment survey that identified the specific needs for training of Albanian business support organizations, as well as their previous exposure to trainings. Preliminary findings of this survey show that Albanian organizations need additional training in the fields of membership relations, programs and services and advocacy.
Based on the results of the diagnostic and training needs assessment, CIPE will develop a curriculum and deliver a comprehensive training session in Tirana that will address the issues and needs identified. The training session will be accompanied by a series of three roundtables that will bring together the business community around common issues pertaining to democratic development and business.
This project comes after a three-year break in CIPE’s programs for Albania and complements the work previously undertaken by local partners in the field of corporate governance.
